As I write this post, I am reflecting on my recent trip to the UK and EU for research abroad and conference travels. Simultaneously, I am looking forward to the upcoming semester: new students and new classes; as such, this will be a quick post.
My research trip had an inherent efficiency requirement – big research goals in a short window of time when I could travel. The most influential tool in meeting my timeline was the automicrotome. Admittedly, this instrument brought on initial frustrations as it needed some repairs and maintenance; but once it was running, it was RUNNING.
Here’s to completing sectioning of over 100 tissue sample blocks in 3 (very long) days.
